Question Kia Soul Compatibility with Multiple RF Car Seats?

Hello! I am hoping someone can help me!

I am due with our 2nd child, and am researching what car seats will work best for us. I have a 2011 Kia Soul. My daughter is 19 mths, and she currently rides in a Complete Air 65 RF in the middle. It will not fit behind the driver or passenger seat because it is too long. I will RF her for at least another year.

When my next baby comes, I want an infant carrier for the first year and then switch to a RF convertible. Has anyone had success with an infant seat next to a Complete Air or something similar? I am not sure anything will actually fit next to the current car seat since it is pretty wide (and long). My daughter is only in the 20% percentile for weight and height so I am not too concerned about her outgrowing a seat.

My husband's car has a Graco MyRide 65 in it, which we could swap out if we need to but not sure if it would even be beneficial since they are about the same widths. I am open to suggestions, and to purchasing new seats since I can always give the grandparents the old seats. I would prefer to keep a car seat in the middle so that we have an open seat in case anyone needs to ride with us, but I realize that we may have to eliminate it if that's the only option.

Thank you in advance!!

I found this post about a three across in a 2011 Kia Soul and it might help to give you a better idea of what could work:

It seems like it's actually quite roomy and some pretty wide seats still worked in those three across setups.

Some of the smaller, in terms of front to back space, infant seats are the Chicco Keyfit, Cybex Aton, and I believe Peg Perego is coming out with a totally revamped infant seat that will be comparable to the previous two I mentioned.

If you have the budget, you could also look into a seat for you toddler that can be installed at a more upright angle and fit behind your driver or passenger seat. Immediately a Radian with angle adjuster come to my mind.

Good luck!

Thank you!! That post was helpful. I didn't realize how wide the backseat is compared to other compact cars since the front to back room is so squished. I did buy a new Graco infant carrier and it fit next to the CA65. Not much leg room for the passenger, but I am happy with it. I am definitely looking at the Radian for when we switch to a convertible.

Thanks again!
