belt fit

Just wanted opinions on my dds fit in this booster.
We're starting to think about using a hbb for her (shes shown us shes mature enough on short rides in others cars ..but dont know how she'll do full time).
Shes 5.5, 43in, and hovers between 31-33lbs.

Btw, this is my 7.5 yr old ds's seat and if this fits good on her we'll buy him a new hbb (hes testing out a nbb while she tries the hbb..but he doesnt like the nbb). If this isnt a good fit for her we'll buy a new one for her and give him his back. :)

What seat is that? I have a small 5.5 year old too and am thinking about what HBB to buy when the time comes.

The belt fit is good, but I am not crazy about the fact that her knees don't bend. I have the same fear with that in a booster and I do with that for just the belt...kids who scrunch down so their knees bend and then the lap belt rides up.

If that were my child I'd re-harness her until her legs were a bit longer. :twocents:

Her knees do bend at the booster seat. But the vehicle seat has her sticking them out. Heres another pic at a different angle.

And for reference..heres my ds in the seat..his legs do the same.

Should I be concerned? Thanks!

Am I the only one who thinks that the lap belt actually looks very close to being too low? More so on the second picture than on the first. It's of course quite hard to tell from photos. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ahhh, I see now. It wasn't clear in the first pic.

I don't know for sure if that would concern me. These new pics seem less worrisome to me. How to describe it...imagine if you're sitting *rightthere* at the edge of a seat as it appears in the first pic...my inclination would be to scrunch down so they could bend. In the second pics, it seems less likely that would happen, more like their lower legs are supported. Does that make sense?

I guess I'd just keep an eye on it. If it seems as though she's scrunching down to bend her legs, then make a change.

The lap belt fit does look a bit low in the 2nd pic.

(And check the headrest above your son's head in his LBB, I'd bring it down so there's no gap.)

You've got cute kids! :)

I like the fit better on him than her. I'd probably get her a new seat-although the belt fit is acceptable and would work in a pinch. :)

Okay. So if I buy a new hbb, itll be for her. Im thinking the graco affix ss.

And ctpdmom, I understand what you mean now. :) and thanks for pointing out the headrest for my ds..I forgot to lower it.

I really appreciate the extra sets of eyes and opinions on this. Thank you.
