OMG! What an ordeal. I remember going thru this to take the harness out to make it a HBB. Now I needed to take the back off. I was alone, so no extra set of hands. I finally used my head (and I mean that literally) to head butt the back, to unhook it from the bottom!
I will be going thru it again with the one in his dad's car in a few days. But now I will know what I am doing and will have help so I won't look as foolish as I'm sure I did a few minutes!
It was mentioned on another thread that the bottom of the Nautilus has a longer expiration date than the backand I remember hearing that also. But the manual said to go by the date on the bottom. I looked at the mfg date of 2-11-2008. Then I found the stamp on the bottom that said Do not use after Dec 2014. That is only 6 1/2 years!
Is it the newer ones that have the longer time for the bottoms?
And then I saw that it said "Do not use Latch in backless booster mode." Sheeesh. I thought you could and was looking forward to it.
But otherwise, I have loved this seat so don't let my ranting scare anyone away!
