If you could buy (almost) any 2 seats...

I need to get two new seats for my kids to use in my husband's car. My son is a super tall 13 month old (99th percentile for height, 75th for weight) who is RF. My daughter will be 4 in November, is slightly taller than average (75th percentile for height, 50th for weight), and is FF. Dahlia is in an RXT and Reier is in a CCO in my car right now. He will be out of the CCO soonish since he is a giant, and I can either give him sister's RXT and get her something new for my car as well, or leave her in the RXT and get him a new convertible. I don't really want another Radian and I don't want the hugeness of the Foonf.

What should I get?

Thanks!

What are your plans/goals for rear facing your little one? Depending on that fact you could definitely pass down the RXT to the little one and get a dedicated combination seat for the 4 year old. You can go with something like a Frontier90 that will get you lots of nice features and and become a belt positioning booster.

If you want to rear face the little one closer to 4 years old and knowing that he's a taller kiddo, I'd go with a Chicco Nextfit or Graco Size/Wise seat so you can get the extra height.

I agree. I would go with a combination seat (FF, harness to booster) seat for your daughter and would pass the Radian to your son.

You could try:

~ Graco Nautilus
~ Britax Pioneer 70
~ Britax Frontier 90
~ Harmony Defender
~ Evenflo SecureKid

The Britax Pinnacle 90 is basically the same seat at the Britax Frontier 90, but has side impace cushions on the sides.

I would pass down the Radian, and buy a sureride for the 4 yr old. Then I'd buy her a dedicated booster down the road.

Well, based on the title, my answer is to pass down the Radian and get your daughter a Recaro Performance Ride or ProRide. I LOVE the ProRide, and would love to get my hands on a Performance Ride.

I would pass down the Radian and let your 4 yr old help pick out a combo seat. I don't like the Radian FF so I'd give it to the RF kid.

So you need two seats for hubby's car right away and another for your car soon?

Yes. I need one for each kid for my husband's car now, and likely another for the little guy in my car soon. He has about half an inch to go in he CCO before it is outgrown. Also, I forgot to mention in the OP, the RXT will only fit my my car with the AA, which is way too upright for my little guy and causes terrible head slump. So that is not an option for him in the Fit, but may work in my husband's car, an old Subaru wagon.

And we want to RF him to at least 3, longer if he fits.

So I'd use the Radian in dad's car for baby and get two new seats for your car and a new seat for your daughter in dad's car. I really like the looks of the Chicco Nextfit, Graco My Size 70, and Maxi Cosi Pria for rear facing seats. For your daughter, I'd look at any of the combination seats already listed above. You could even do a cheaper one for dad's car, especially if she won't be in there as much.

Or keep her in the Radian in your car, get a new convertible for baby in your car, and get two cheaper seats for dad's car, like two Evenflo Sure Rides. They are tall rear facing and forward facing, so would last your kids for a long time.
