LL Bean backpack size recommendations?

So, I messed up and thought this year was the year I wouldn't be buying DD a new backpack... I've missed out on most of the LL Bean sales, and just figured out I DO need to buy her a new pack.

In K she had an LE backpack that I hated, so in 1st I got her the LL Bean Original backpack. She used it in 1st, then at the end of 1st it got a tear so they replaced it. She used the replacement in 2nd. I wasn't going to buy her a new one for 3rd but the one she had in 2nd was so dingy (it was light pink) that I bought her a print one (Original size) when they were on sale for $18 in July of last year.

She used that original size last year and it was perfect for her needs. All she ever brought home was a homework folder. So she could stuff that plus her sweatshirt and lunch in there just fine.

I totally forgot that this year she will be bringing home textbooks. I hoped she would use her Original until 5th grade, but I'm not sure that will work. Her birthday is in a few weeks, so I think we'll be getting her a new backpack. I just can't decide which size!

There's the Original Plus which is shorter than the original (?) but deeper and has an extra pocket. But for the same size we can get the Deluxe which is taller and deeper than the Original. I didn't get my LL Bean Deluxe backpack until my freshman year of high school and I recall it being HUGE. Is the Deluxe going to be too big for 4th grade? I'm totally prepared to buy her a new one after this in 2 years or so, so I don't NEED the biggest one.

She's not tiny, but she's not on the bigger side, either. I'm just afraid the Deluxe would dwarf her... but maybe I'm not remembering it correctly.

I just looked and both my girls have the deluxe version. They have used it for the past year. They carry a lot of stuff, plus their lunchbox, and the backpack seems to hold a good amount. It is kind of tight when we are dealing with DD#1's 3" zippered binder though. DD#2 was in 3rd grade last year and had no issues with the deluxe being too big.
