Mailing a frontier 90?

Not sure where to put this, so feel free to move it.

Has anyone mailed a Britax frontier 90 within the US new in box? I inadvertantly had mine shipped to my sister's house and she was quoted $68 by USPS today to mail it to me. It is going from 77380 to 32308. I feel like the 85 was a lot less expensive to ship. Is there a less expensive way?

Can your sister refuse the package and have it sent back to wherever it came from and you can reorder it from the site with what I assume is free shipping? I've never done it with a large package but have done it with small packages that are unopened but never large packages.

No, it was left at her door. And yes, she went into the post office and ups store. I think Im just gonna order a second one and return that one. It's not worth $70. I could nearly have a nauti for that.

That's a pretty typical rate for coast to coast for a large carseat package with UPS ground. If you have a Paypal/ebay account, you may be able to open a UPS account with a 10% discount. I find Fedex Ground Home Delivery is usually a little less, but not much.

FYI: As long as it hasn't been opened, you can still refuse it, but she'd probably have to drive it back to the shipper. For example, when I needed to refuse a UPS package they had left at my door, I just drove it over to UPS, they checked to see it didn't look opened, and that was it. I hope it all works out!

If you both live near Greyhound I usually save significant money shipping oversize items with them and they have always been super careful with my packages.
