The first new seat I saw was the UppaBaby Mesa! I installed it with LATCH on their test bench and wow, was I impressed. I didn't install with seatbelt but the lock-off looked very easy. I liked how the shoulder belt guide for baseless installation kind of "popped" out so it didn't take up extra space and can't catch on anything. The sunshade was interesting (not totally in love, but neat idea) and the height/headrest was easy to adjust. I also liked the little pockets for buckle tongues to keep them out of the way for loading/unloading.
They also had the Snugride 35 Click Connect LX. I was not impressed. The plastic felt cheap on both the seat and the base. I'm not a fan of the slippery harness and did not like that they have sewn the harness to the adjuster (no splitter plate). The bunched the webbing of the straps together to sew it. I think I will stick to the Classic Connect for now. Also, I see the placement of the recline dial on the base to be awkward since you can't have the base in place.
Does anyone else have thoughts on these seats? I'm not sure I could ever justify the price of the Uppababy but maybe I'll start saving (sort of TTC).
