I have a tech coming to my house to do a check on 4 seats. She mentioned something in a group (not directly to me) that compensation in our state (VA) voids any Good Samaritan rules. I asked her directly what I could do to show my appreciation in an appropriate way, but she didn't address that.
So, what can I do that would keep her from running afoul of voiding the Good Samaritan law? Would any sort of token of appreciation, like a gift card, be considered compensation or is it only applicable to monetary compensation?
And how much?? I am very appreciative she's coming to my house and doing 4 seats...
