3 Booster Questions

Two questions from a friend of mine and one about my big guy.

I've got a friend whose DS is 5.5, 45" and 45 lbs, more or less. He currently rides in a Nauti in booster mode and a HBTB. Here goes:

1. Parents want to get a new booster for one car and give the Nauti to their almost 3 yo whose Roundabout is expiring this fall. Does anyone know whether a Monterey will fit correctly in a 2008 Outback?

2. Family is going on vacation in 2 weeks. They want to get a BubbleBum for the trip so they dont have to fly with a booster and worry about the tight 3 across awaiting them on the other end. Does the BubbleBum fit a child of this size?

And I've got a "booster" question of my own.

3. I'm flying by myself to visit my sister in a few weeks and need something for DS. On the other end we'll be doing 3 across in the back of a 2009 Corolla. DN is 3 months and in a Snugride 30, my DD is 7mos and will be in a Coccoro, which I'm bringing with me. DS is currently a question mark, but I'm thinking about a RideSafer Travel Vest. Any thoughts on what size would be best? Or is there anything else you would recommend? Please keep in mind that I'm traveling by myself with 2 kids and I don't check luggage. DS is 4.5, 40 lbs, and 42" tall. Since I'm taking a suitcase, diaper bag, purse, carseat, and 2 kids, I'm trying to minimize the additional luggage needs.

Thank you!

Just a bit of advice, you'll more than likely get some more replies/help if you separate out the questions into different threads. :) that seems to be the way to get the most help!

As far as the Monterey in a Subaru, I'm sure as long as it wasn't a 3 across situation it'd be fine. Just remembering that a Monterey requires headrest support in whatever position it is in. The center position is narrow in that vehicle with a hump, so it more than likely wouldn't work there.

I don't like the idea of a BubbleBum for a child who's used to riding in a HBB exclusively. They just aren't used to not having the support for sleeping/leaning and if it's a tight 3 across situation, you need to bank on having a headrest in the vehicle with what position he's in. Do they know what vehicle it will be? The HBTB is pretty narrow and light, they could possibly take it apart and stow it in the overhead.

For your situation, a Ride Safer travel vest could be an option; but I don't think they are allowed on airplanes (maybe someone else can chime in) in which case you'd need a CARES harness also. I just don't love the idea of an airplane lap belt only on a child that small. I realize you'll be alone and carrying everything but maybe you can recruit the 4.5yo to help if you put your TF or Coccoro on a Go-Go BABYZ strap/cart or something?
