Road trip: what seat?

I have been booster training my DS, almost 5 yrs old. In September we are going on a very long road trip (NM to KY), I definitely want him back in a 5 point for this.

We will be in a Honda Odessy (2013), my friends two kids in the back row will be in Radians. What will fit in between?

My DS is pretty big for his age, size of a lot of 7 yr olds. I wanted to get him a Britax Frontier but not sure how well that seat plays with others.

Any suggestions?

I don't know. I haven't looked too far into HWH seats yet

I am not sure what his stats currently are but he is bigger than all the kids in his day care class who start K this year, meanwhile he has one more year before he starts K.

Can you test him in some seats at a store? If he's that tall, you might have limited options.

Not a lot of options around here to test him in. What HWH seats fit bigger kids best?

Other than the Frontier, what other seats are out there for taller children?

If he is to big for the radian I think that the frontier is your only option.
I would just keep him in the booster seat.

I think the only thing that will fit between the radians is a rider safe travel vest
Currently their is a Rstv on swap.

Oooo, I had forgotten about those. Thanks!

Probably get a Frontier for my car and a vest for the trip we are taking with a friend and her 4 boys

Can you measure his torso height? I can't imagine a 5 year old traveling in that. We travel just 9 hours and they get tired of it even in cushy Frontiers. Will all 3 seats be used in the 2nd row? That row could hold a Frontier and 2 others.

The 2 nd row is an option if need be but it will make getting the other littles in and out more difficult. The kids are 4,3,2,1 and a 5 month old

Does she have a 3rd Radian? Even a tall 5 year old might fit it. There's a good chance he still fits 18" harnesses if your friend has a spare. I wouldn't buy one for a tall kid though. Another option would be moving a younger child rf to the 3rd row. That's what we do with our 1 year old now.
