We just got our replacement buckle and buckle tongues for our 2011 Nautilus. It is the new square button version in grey. It is fabulous! My mother can work the buckle again and my 5 yr old doesn't need help to buckle or unbuckle anymore! Hooray! So much better and I'm so pleased Graco has changed the buckles!

Oh wow really? I thought they weren't going to release the new ones until the fall for some reason. I'm so glad they made this change. HATED their new buckles but have been considering moving my youngest to a size4me when his marathon expires. Now I am just waiting for a sale... :jive:

Did you have to pay for it? My nautilus is less than a week old.

No, I didn't have to pay for it. I told customer service that the buckle was really hard to buckle on one side and increasingly hard to unbuckle even after cleaning it. It was as my son called it, "a very pesky buckle." Truly, one day a month ago, he thought he was stuck n the seat. My Mom was panicked and was thinking she would have to cut the seat straps. Later we talked about loosening the harness all the way so he could get out of needed.

I just got one too. I emailed to clarify if the replacement buckles available for purchase on the website were the newest vision and they sent it to me for free. Really, really impressed with their customer service!

I read that as well, about the 10.95. Honestly that wouldn't even be too bad, I think everything Britax ships you have to pay $11 just for shipping and that 10.95 included shipping.

Yes but britax usually sends things for free even after the warranty period.

Graco has always been good about sending stuff as free replacements, too, in my experience. But comparing the policies when they DO expect you to pay, I think Britax really gouges on shipping, so that Graco buckle, as a paid-for part, to me seemed reasonable.

But I do think this should be handled like a recall or defect as opposed to an optional item. Maybe that one case was a misunderstanding?

I wonder if other companies who have started using this buckle will discontinue as well? I know Evenflo has, I think I have seen it on one other brand as well but maybe they was just the prototype...

I actually emailed because I was fine with paying for it, especially since they sent me a new buckle a few months ago when the original one locked up but they sent it out free of charge which I wasn't expecting.

Which buckle has Evenflo switched to? We really could use a cheap Maestro but I keep putting it off because I hate the terrible Graco copy cat buckle.

Anyone know if they will give a new one on an infant seat. I just got a SR35 classic and it's a bear to unbuckle already. It's DD's back up seat until we have #3.
