After you remove the two screws from the back panel, the panel slides upward and out. You can then see how the harness is routed and can rethread them correctly. It is very easy to fix. Good luck.

Just like every other dad on here who had to clean the car seat from top to bottom after a kid got sick in it. Thanks for posting PICTURES on how to do this. Stupid wheels.... Stupid wheels...

Ugh! I can't access the pictures and Chicco is closed!

Hi, welcome to car-seat.org. I realize it must be frustrating not to be able to view the pictures prior to fully registering here, sorry for the inconvenience, it's a protective measure to help ward off spammers. Once your car-seat.org account is fully registered and no longer moderated, then you should be able to view the photo attachments posted earlier in the thread, and Chicco should also be open for business by the current time of day as well.

Anyone have a Chicco NextFit Zip? I did the same thing, but there's no obvious screws to remove on the back panel, and of course Chicco is closed today.

For any non-site members that cannot see the pictures on this thread...the "two screws" and 30 seconds are located on the bottom of the seat itself, NOT the seat base...immediately below the gray plastic back storage compartment for the middle anchor strap. Rotate the seat to the near vertices position, and you should be able to see the two screws.

We had this minor emergency this weekend at a family Christmas get together, and were unable to view the pictures posted higher on this thread... we had one MD, one phd, and 4 MA/MS degree people trying to figure it out...took about an hour...and for those keeping score, the MD figured it out.

No, you cannot wash straps in the washing machine. They have a protective coating to reduce flammability that may wash off, and the agitation may damage them structurally.

Check your manual, it often states that you can use 'mild soap' and water to wipe down the straps if they have had spills (either from a drink/food or the child's stomach).
