Ok just took the leap and moved my oldest (7yrs) into a booster.

What exactly is booster training?

Also what do I need to know as a parent with a boostered child to ensure he is safe each trip?

So far I got, lap belt low over hips, not tummy...shoulder belt on shoulder...not neck...

The child needs to sit so the belt is properly positioned at all time. No leaning over to get something, no falling out of the belt while sleeping, etc.

The shoulder belt should be in the middle of the shoulder. The belt being on the neck is not a safety concern, just uncomfortable. The shoulder belt being too close to the edge of the shoulder is a safety concern.

ok got it....thanks.

The sleeping thing is going to be tricky...even I slump to the side when I sleep in the car....but at least I am not driving at the time! lol

Have him lean towards the side the shoulder belt is on. Some kids learn to lean their heads back to sleep instead of leaning

DS taught himself this move. I call it the "Muppet Nap". It's hilarious but it works!
