When you say you took it apart did you remove the wings and now they won't stay back in or was it like this when you removed the cover? If its the latter I'd probably report it. You may get a new one. It might be worth calling anyway...

They seem flimsy to me and I figured they'd eventually stop staying in. DD always seems to pop the one side open when she climbs in but it's the pin coming out that concerns me...

I don't know about the pin thing (never took my cover off), but I know them breaking is common. I broke one just installing the seat.

Yeah one of mine is broken too but the other side is still fine. I wish they hadn't even made those stupid things moveable because they don't do much in the first place.

Do you want to use the seat with the sides up? If so, complain. I realized that I was only going to use the seat with the sides down because it's more comfy for the legs that way, so I didn't bother complaining. I figure if I got a new seat, ti would just break too.

I don't like using it with the sides down at all because I have to use this seat outboard and it already has low sides. Does that make sense ?

I took the cover off and discovered it that way and then I saw that the pin doesn't stay in place it comes out of the second hole it should be in and is just always protruding from the side ? I sent an email to diono so well see !
