Pronunciation of "Signo"

Is it "sign-oh" (i as in sign) or sig-no (i as in signature)?

We had this discussion before and didn't come to a consensus.

If it is pronounced like the other Italian names, it would be SEEN-YO. I don't think that is how they say it, though.

signo is also a brand of writing implements, and they pronounce it sig-no.

I figured it was Seen-yo and that they were going for an Italian theme (Como, Vivo, etc...).

according to what I remember in highschool latin lol! the gn in signo would be harsh like in hangnail. so would be si-gno
the online dictionary gives these as its definition:
signal, seal, indication, sign, mark, token, miraculous works

if the last one if true, then thats probably why they chose that name

That's true. My husband, the Latin scholar, tell me Signo would be seenyo in Latin, too.

Maybe Recaro is trying to class up the world of carseats.

I guess it fits in with the Young Sport and Young Style, then. It doesn't fit in with the Como, Vivo, and so on.


Sig-no. That is not very pretty.

Call it whatever you want. For me it's "Seen? - No!"

I hope to make it "Seen - Yes!!!!!!" sometime soon.
