Chicco Nextfit rear-facing head slump

I just got my Nextfit and I WAS sooo excited! I've been waiting for it to come into stock for over a month. So I get it installed at the proper angle ...I did it more upright, cause I'm rear facing a 29 month old. Not only does he complain that hes not comfortable and the straps rub his neck, but he falls asleep and....CRAZY HEADSLUMP! I adjusted the angle today and put it the most reclined as I could and still have the level bubble in the right place. He didn't have complete headslump when he fell asleep, but his chin was definitely on his chest, all you could see was double chin, no neck. I've never had this problem with a seat before.

Is anyone else having issues with the Nextfit? On paper it's sooo close to the perfect seat...if I can't resolve this I'm gonna have to return it and go back to the drawing board :yeahthatmad:

Sorry you are having issues with the Nextfit. I noticed my DD was sleeping chin-to-chest in it yesterday, too, which is unusual for her. When my 7yo was her age some seats just curled him into a ball for some reason. He ended up hanging like a rag doll off to the side in a Triumph Advance when he fell asleep, and that seat is also supposed to be really supportive. Maybe there's something about the bowl-shaped seats that does it with some kids.

ETA: My favorite seat with him was the classic marathon... much "straighter" and more supportive with his lack of tone while sleeping.
