Should I let DD choose between seats?

We have a new Boulevard 70 G3 in our van, which we only purchased because of it's shallow depth, which fit better in the car we traded in early this year. The seat she uses in my mom's car is the one we originally used in our car, a Roundabout 50 Classic. Now that we have a van, the depth on the car seat is less of an issue. Technically, the Boulevard has more features and "safety" measures, so I've kept it in our car since it's the daily driver...where she spends the most time. DD constantly asks me for her "pink car seat" (the Roundabout). She says she likes it better and it is comfy.

I think she's hated the Blvd since the beginning (we've had it 7-8 months). She broke the HUGS last month so I got replacements, but I'm leaving them off as long as she's RF, hoping that will improve her comfort. She sometimes complains of her back hurting, but since I adjusted the harness height I haven't heard complaints (I think it was probably too low, pushing her into an uncomfortable position...it's still below the shoulder, but not as low).

So I guess I'm asking if I should just keep her in the seat that I think could be "safer" (the Blvd) or let her have the seat she seems more excited about, or more comfortable in (the pink Roundabout). DD is 2.5y and 26-27lb. She is RF outboard passenger side. Don't think it matters, but we have a 2013 Ody and her Blvd doesn't touch the passenger seat back. The Roundabout probably will.

I would let her choose. I really don't see much of a safety difference between the two seats, even with the extra headwings on the the BLVD she's super safe in the Roundabout because she's RF.

I don't think you'll have a space issue either, neither seat needs to be installed at the 45 degree angle at her age. I had our MA's installed in some very small backseats (when we had them) without any problems.

I would let her choose as well. But just out of curiosity, have you thought about getting a pink cover for the Blvd? If you don't already have one...

I'm sure my DD would pick a pink car seat over anything else even if it was less comfortable :p
