Our quest for the perfect car seat continues--having a tall toddler (37 inches, with a 14" torso at 26 months) is proving quite challenging. We're searching for the perfect car seat. I'm going to visit the Blush Como tomorrow

She was in a Marathon:

and I wanted to keep her RF longer so I bought a Radian80:

I hate it and want to replace it.

We looked at the SafeSeat2. She had about half an inch of torso growth. It weighs a TON and I hate the chest clip.

Then we looked at the Evenflo Triumph Advance. It's very nice and soft, and surprisingly very light. It is very wide, but nice and comfy-looking. DD loved it. But, she has about an inch left RF'ing and about an inch before she hits the top slots.

Next we looked at the Britax Diplomat. Very nice and comfy, as we expect from Britax. DD has outgrown this seat both RF and FF--she is a good 2.5 inches above the top slots (she would have outgrown this by 18 months). Very nice seat, but $300 for a seat that would be outgrown completely by 18 months

I also had my younger DD model the seat--6 months, 15 lbs, 26 inches, 12" torso.

Moving on...the Britax Boulevard. She's got about 3 inches before she hits the top slots, but installed in the car she's only got about 2". RF she has an inch.

Then of course we have the Regent. She would be on the second-from-bottom slots.

Just for fun:

Lots of great pictures and your daughters are ADORABLE!!!!! She sure is one tall little cookie! May I ask why do you hate your Radian? Currently we have a Radian as well as an Evenflo Triumph Advance. I am getting a Como for my 4 yr old DD and I think it will be THE ONE. Then I will try to convince DH we need 2 of them....:p
ETA: If you took out the exta padding in the Evenflo, she'd have another inch maybe...just an FYI, my DD has about 2.5" left in he harness in that one and her torso is 14.5".

Oh, duh, I forgot about the padding in the Triumph! DD2 was getting cranky so I wanted to hurry up and get pics of everything. I was pretty surprised she only had an inch, because everyone compared it to the Marathon, so that explains it. So, she'd have about 2 inches FF and an inch or so RF'ing. I'm trying to decide what to get her, so I might get one of those for $150 instead of a Marathon for $230 (yeah I know they were on sale but I don't have the $$ right now :( )

Oh, I hate the Radian because we're having an issue with the harness loosening, and the pink cover shows every speck of dirt, and I have to have it outboard or it's way too reclined.

I like how the Diplomat's head wings go out more than the BV (hopefully the Advocate will be the same)!!

Man that Triumph is big....definately not a seat you would be using to get 3 across.

Thanks for the pics!!!

Great pics!

It looks like she would get the most use out of the Regent, but I can understand that you want to leave her RF for now.

Yes I see a Regent in our future! I'm thinking of getting another Marathon, using that RF for the last inch, and then passing it down to DD2 or using it as a spare seat & getting a Regent. I'm holding out hope for the Como though--I'm going to try it out today ;)

Good luck:thumbsup:

If you get a chance to install it, it seems rather hard to get the child in because it installs super upright but now that I have our como RFing with 3 rolled up towels it is easier to get DD in it.

those were awesome pictures! Thanks for sharing. My son was probably her size, then he started gaining more weight and less in height.

I liked how you put her in the booster. Amazing how well she fills it up! Scary how it seems to fit her (height wise) and she should not be in one yet. No wonder people use boosters early.

That's crazy! My girls will be 5 in February and 4 in December and they both would have just outgrown the Diplomat! They are just barely above the top slots.

Wow... I didn't realize how small my kids really were! :)

You will have a little better luck with the Como. I don't know if you will love it, but it will give her a few more inches of room. She's skinny so you will probably love it. http://britaxcarseats.blogspot.com . I have some pictures of my girl's in the Diplomat and then the Como there if you'd like to see the difference.

Hoping you love the Como!

SO CUTE!!!!!! Your girls are Adorable!!! And wow, if Leah's in 2t/3t shirts already at 19 months, she's still not even close to your kiddo in outgrowing seats. Funny thing though, it's leg-growing time...I bet your dd will fit the same in those seats for months longer than you anticipate, and stop looking so short in that Turbo :D
