RF tethering - Swedish style

I saw a rf Marathon tethered this way on the way home a while ago. Just idle curiosity. Is that okay to do still? It looked like the old style Marathon.

Yes, that's typically how seats are tethered rear-facing, when rear-tethering is allowed. As far as I know, Britax still allows Australian tethering, too (the kind that goes over the top and attaches to the FF tether anchor).

Duh. I meant Australian tethering. Over their head towards their feet to the back window. I admit I don't understand the benefit of it.

Aussie style tethering does nothing to prevent rebound but limits the RF seat's ability to make the initial downward rotation during a frontal crash. It provides many of the same benefits as a load leg. Unfortunately the versa tether really gets in the way of loading and unloading the child which is why most parents chose not to tether their Britax convertible this way.

I have pics of Aussie style tethering in my RA55 review: http://carseatblog.com/12199/britax-roundabout-55-review-continuing-the-legacy-picture-heavy/

And also in my Pavilion 70 review: http://carseatblog.com/20142/draft-...other-impressive-option-in-the-britax-lineup/
