Recline on the Frontier 90

I noticed when Mags falls asleep she's really slumpy and seems uncomfortable (waking to pull her head up, etc.) The 90 is SO MUCH more upright than the 85, I decided to try the recline. I love the ease of installing and the up-front recline and all- but I found the actual recline hard to do. I could pull the handle and I could pull down the recline, but getting it to stick in place took half a dozen or more tries! It did eventually come out and stick, but it didn't feel "sturdy." I know, I know, it's been tested, blah, blah, but I paid enough for this seat (even with a major discount) you'd think the stupid handle and prop... thingies holding it out wouldn't feel like they were going to break. :( It's the same "feel" I've noticed with the headrest adjusters on the new gen convertibles. Anyone else have issues with a sticky/tricky recline?

I did when I tried to do it on the fly in the grocery store parking lot. After I uninstalled it and looked at the way the mechanism works, I can do it just fine since I now keep in mind what's happening with the mechanics.

Just curious. After your reclined the seat, did that alleviate her head slump?

You have to recline it w the seat uninstalled put one hand on the recline the other on the base ( it takes two hands)

The recline mechanism on that seat makes me feel like the stupidest person in the world. Eventually I get it to work, but I can't figure out how, exactly. I just pull the handle and bash it around until something happens.

Yeah, I had a hard time with the recline the first couple of times. once I got it snapped in the recline position it hasn't budged. Unfortunately the recline didn't help much with our head slump.

The 85 was SUPER reclined in the position I had it in. While the 90 was SUPER upright. I'm hopeful the 90's recline will help.

I just figured out the recline on our Pinnacle 90 this week, also to combat head slump. I couldn't figure out how to make it work till I pulled the seat all the way out of the car. Once I realized how it worked, it was fine, but I agree, it doesn't "click" into place the way I expected it to. It just seems like it's on a continuous slide. It hasn't moved since I reclined it, though, so I guess it works. :)

But DS is still slumping, albeit less so. In the upright position, he had head slump as soon as he fell asleep. In the reclined position, he's okay initially, but when he's deeply asleep he slumps again. Less badly, but still forward. I have to say I never noticed slumping when he was in the RXT, but then again he was RF for 90% of the time that it was his primary seat.

It's not a big enough deal that I dislike the seat, but it's less than perfect. ;P

I had a hard time at first too, but like the PP's I laid it down so I could see how the mechanism worked and that helped. It works a bit differently than I expected, the movement is just odd.
