Would you?

I have a friend who is using an expired and outgrown seat (comfortsport) for her 2 year old daughter (ffing) they just had some flooding damage and she says she can't replace it. She is watching my kids next Tuesday and taking them to swim team. I thought about buying the newer chase, and installing it for my son to use that day and then letting her keep it. She didn't want me to pay her and I thought this could be a way around that (because I think when someone watches your kids for 9 hours you should pay them in some way) Her daughter is only about 25lbs (which of course would be better rear facing but I'd much rather get her into a seat that fits and isn't expired than battle over rear facing, plus I don't want to spend a ton).

Would you buy a seat for someone who didn't ask for it and doesn't seem to care/understand?

In the situation you're describing, if you think she'll use the new seat, then yes, I'd go ahead and get it.

If she would use it then sure. I'd also get her something else since she may not view that as a gift/payment. Gift card, box of grocery store bakery cookies, ext.

Just ordered a cute pink flowered Chase from Walmart that I'll pick up on Monday. Which means I have to convince my 4 year old boy to ride in it for 1 day. My oldest use to ride in the flowered Regent with his old baby sitter :)
