Is the britax husky still made/unexpired?

This is a special needs seat correct? A friend of mine with a tiny special needs toddler asked me if I knew anyone that would need this bc he would be driving before he was big enough for it. He's 3, 21 lbs, and probably 30 inches tall.

Anyway, it was his cousin's who is profoundly disabled and he used it for several years. Would it have the same 6 year expiration? I'm sure someone could really use this seat but of it's expired or close to it I want to let her know....

It's not a special needs seat, it was the precursor to the Frontier :) But it would work great for an older SN child! I know they aren't all expired, they stopped making them in like 2009.

Actually weren't they the precursor to the regent? I think all the huskys are done but there are some regents that haven't expired yet.

Yes, the Husky was the precursor to the Regent. There are still some unexpired Regents out there, but the Huskies must be long-gone by now.

Thanks y'all! I finally found a thread with the info... They were done making them in '05 so they're definitely all expired...

Sorry, but I'm new here and don't understand what it means to have an expired care seat.
A friend of mine gave me a Britax Husky that she hasn't used in about 8 years. I guess the main question is if this is a safe seat for my daughter. She is 50 pounds and is 36 inches tall.
Thanks you for reading!

All seats have an expiration time/date. Most britax are 6 years. This is because plastic and other materials degrade and new technology is developed...

So the bottom line is this seat is expired and no longer safe to use. There are absolutely safe options for her on the market now. I encourage you to start a thread in the main car seat forum and we would be glad to recommend a new seat for her :)
