Liking the Securekid LX for my long-torsoed kid

I am so happy with the Evenflo Securekid LX. My 3-year-old has a lot of growing room, even though he's nearly maxing out the Radian. He is 43 inches and 41 lbs.

Tomorrow grandparents are taking my 3 and 5-year-old out to eat. In the car I had a Vivo and a Scenera. Neither would be workable for 3-year-old though the grandparents didn't understand why. I received in one day my Securekid seat! I didn't need the version with fancy latch since I don't use latch. This has to be the easiest seat to install with seatbelt.

I tried other seats we have...The Advocate was hanging off the seat (they have an old Saturn). The Radian made the seatbelt fabric twist and get stuck. The Maestro was with other grandma. The Orbit toddler is set in RF mode and I don't want to change it since we have a baby. The seats actually in our van DO NOT come out (installs involved gymnastics). The seats in the spare car dad has at work, plus moving them is a pain.

Grandparents thought I was nuts when I needed to order ANOTHER carseat. :) But this is perfect! Even my 5-year-old can use it. Wonder if the 6-year-old would fit; I'm curious. Now we actually have an easy to transfer harnessed seat for taller kids, and it wasn't even that expensive considering.

We have an SK 300, too. My 5 year old is 43" tall, 40 lbs, & wears a 5/6 shirt. He has over an inch left in the top harness slot. I think he'll make to age 6, which I didn't originally think would happen at his growth rate. My 8 year old is 49" tall, 49 lbs, & wears a 7/8 shirt-- he's over the top slot, but fits in it great as a booster with room to grow. Great lasting seat for the price.
