The Monterey is a velour-ish fabric, maybe not quite as plush as the Midnight.

I was about to buy the pink Monterey but I've decided to wait on the new Parkway. We have a car with no head support that DH will never get rid of.

No. If I'm remembering correctly, the Flora is much, much nicer (soft, padded, plush) than the Diono Montereys. The Flora reminded me of classic Britax. The Diono Montereys are suede and am I remembering correctly that it's combined with a sort of mesh fabric? I've been spoiled by Britax velvet, so I didn't particularly like it, but it may be better than others. HTH

My son has a red Moneterey and I really like it. When I sat in it ( yep, I fit!) it was very comfortable and the fabric was really nice. We live in Thailand so. Nice fabric was important to me, too.
