Where are all the Oobrs?

They're not in stock anywhere! Is there a redesign going on or something? ETA on when they might be around again?

I have no idea, but I'm really hoping it's a redesign for taller kids! I like a lot of things about this seat, but another inch or two deeper seat and another inch or more taller and I could actually justify buying one. If the seat gets deeper, I hope the sides get deeper too as I'm used to seats wrapping around kids a bit more. But I love the sleek design, metal structure, rigid latch, and head rest adjustment that works like vehicle seat head rests.

bumping this ... anyone know what's going on with this? Is there a redesign or ...? After getting a glimpse of the new Britax HBB, I'm hoping even more for an Oobr redesign for taller kids. Please, Clek, make one that works for us! :)

There is just a higher demand than stock right now. It's being addressed, but unfortunately it means stock is lower than normal until we get the shipment from the factory and send it out to retailers.

Any idea when there might be an influx? I'd love to get one for my son by the end of July... preferably sooner.

Oh Trudy....while I'm happy its selling well....that's not at all the answer I was hoping for!!!! I noticed that they are a great deal on Amazon.ca right now, so when I saw this thread I thought for SURE there must be a redisign coming!!! :(

Is the short seat depth something Clek is aware of and might address in a redesign do you think? Or is it likely a feature that will stick around? (I know its not an issue for all kids)

DD needs a booster in DH's car ASAP. I've been putting it off and putting it off hoping for the perfect booster for her, and I SO want that to be OObr....but she has such long long legs that I'm worried.

I'm checking for you. I can't imagine it being long, but I've also asked if there is a known online retailer with stock available.

There are a few ideas being pursued around the seat pad depth but there is no timeline on when any revision could happen.

You may find that it doesn't bother your dd - I know my dd isn't bothered by it at all. I know that some kids are bothered, but it doesn't seem to be the majority. If you think about a vehicle seat, most adults have legs that extend beyond the edge of the vehicle seat as well. I think it probably depends on how supported the feet are when it comes to comfort for kids with longer thighs - my dd can touch her feet to the floor when she's sitting in the Oobr, so that may influence things in her case.

Although not the answer I was hoping for, I appreciate your response.

I guess I'd better cross my fingers that my DD's Frontier 85 booster fit improves within the next year (by the time she outgrows the harness). :(

In addition to the short seat depth, Oobrs are HARD. My dd often complained, on long trips, about how much she hurt. And, they are hard. Is Clek working on that, too?

We'd be interested in more seat depth, and going all out on SIP. Headwings and sides maybe 3 times as deep so the child is really wrapped around, plus sides that cover torso and shoulders, no gaps.

Yeahthat... I have two in boosters and I don't even consider the oobr an option.

:yeahthat: When I tried my 6.5yo DD in it, I felt like she was practically hanging out of it due to the lack of seat around and under her. It was like she looked too big, yet, although she's tall for her age, she's very petite in every other way and as skinny as they come. In her FR85, she looks wrapped in comfort and safety, but she's on the top harness slot. There are some things I really like about the Oobr, but without changes, it's not an option for us. :(

I heard back on stock. The drift are back in stock now and can be found directly on the Clek shopping portal. Other colors are expected back in within the next few weeks. The drift is not crypton fabric if you're looking for a Crypton one.

Do the oobrs have less depth than the Olli? My 10 year old sits in that with no problem. Is the oobr harder than the Olli? My kids find the Olli pretty comfy.

According to the database, at 12.5" the Oobr is about 2/3" shallower. That's shallower than any combo seat or booster we've had and it looks really shallow with my 50" 6.5yo sitting in it. Otherwise, there are some really nice features, but it just won't work for us. :(

My 51" DD loves the Olli but I think how it fits in our captain's chair gains depth for her. It seems like the softest/cushiest seat we have, but I haven't tried an Oobr. The armrests are what she loves, loves, loves most.
