I've got two RXTs coming next week. After looking at the spead sheets, I'm a little confused. I was the sure the RXTs would last alot longer FFing than the BLVD. But the blvds harness hight is listed as 17" and the is listed as 17.5" . Is that right? It doesent seem like a big differance.

Although....I like the seating deapth and the shoulder width better that the blvd.

Thanks

Yes, that's about right. The big pro of the RXT over the BV70 is the taller shell.
Diono says the child's shoulders can go above the top harness slot FF as long as the tops of the ears are below the shell, but with the RXT, you'll likely run out of shoulder room before that happens.

It's funny how the Radian really does work longer. I finally had to think of it this way....well, it made sense when I first thought of it, but anyway, kids are sorta like silly putty, kind of liquid and fit the shape of the container. Taller container fits the same amount but makes it look taller. Or, uh, something like that. Anyway, my kids fit about a year longer in the Radian than the old Marathon (6 and 7 for smaller dd1, 5 and 6 for larger dd2)

Thanks ladies. The 1st rxt should be here tuesday. Cant wieght to compair all my seats. I guess even if he doesn't have a ton more harrness room than the blvd, it will still be worth it becsause of the leg support snd shoulder room.

My son is 38" and 35#s. So he should be abel to RF for awhile first.

His problem is he has a long torso and big head, lol.Thats why he just outgrew the blvd RF. He still had lots of leg room.

RF seats are outgrown b/c of the shell height or reaching a height limit. The Blvd shell is shorter so it is outgrown rf sooner, but is decent height ff. You should get a good amount more rf time with the Radians. I don't really like seats with bases for ff so I think the radian will work out better ff once he outgrows it rf too.

Thanks!! That's what I'm thinking too. I'm hoping it sits further back INTO the seat when its FFing if that's makes sense.....So his legs arnt so close to the bench seat in front of him.

It does. :)

How much benefit you get out of that depends on your vehicle, but yes, the Radian seems to offer lots of forward-facing leg room for big kids in small cars.

My van is huge. Three back benches. But with 6 kids, someone's always cutting past someone else. So hoping the RN will be better for this. AFTER he flips FFing. For now he'll go back outboard RFing.

It's to bad they dont raise the RNs harnness settings about 1". That would be awesome!!!
