Vue vs EDGE?

Hubby has decided that now is a great tim to buy a new car...I am about to go on unpaid maternity leave :) Seriously though one of our vehicles needs close to $1000 worth of work in the next few weeks and he is seriously considering trading in our Ford Escape for a slightly newer vehicle with less miles. 2 vehicles that he looked at today include a 2009 Saturn Vue and a 2007 Ford Edge. We need to put 2 RFing seats (infant and convertible) and a defender 360 in this vehicle. Ideally, I would like to buy something that we don't have to buy new car seats for.
Any thoughts on which one would be more car seat friendly?

Based on rear hip room, the Edge is almost 3.5 inches wider (52.9 vs 56.1). I prefer the look of the Edge over the Vue but I'm a Ford person :)
