ride safer vest

Would it be a decent solution to purchase and use as a spare(in an early 90's f250 in the summer, some times in a 90-something Jeep grand cherokee) and to send with Jordyn to her dads?
there was talk about purchasing at least two more seats for the other vehicles, but if this would work for the two vehicles rarely rode in and would be a good one to send to her dads(not ready to booster, he refuses to buy a new seat) then it would equal to about(less?) than two(or three) maestro's.

Jordyn's just under 40inches and 37lbs, wears a 3t old navy short sleeved shirt.

And how do people like it?

Well, it depends. How old is Jordyn?

Since she's still pretty small, I'd probably go with the version 2 vest which has the crotch strap. This will keep the vest sitting low on her and in better position. However, it requires a tether if it's used with a lap-only belt and since you're talking about 90s era vehicles, you're probably also going to be dealing with a lap-only belt somewhere in there. And most 90s era vehicles don't have tether anchors retrofitted (since dad's refusing to buy a new seat, I assume he won't retrofit a tether anchor?).

The newest version of the Travel Vest, ver. 3, doesn't have a tether, but it also doesn't have a crotch strap. Because it doesn't have a tether requirement, it does require use of a lap/shoulder belt.

The Ride Safer vests are great options for occasional use but I think most people wouldn't want to use them for every day use.

Sorry to hijack, but I just purchased the RSTV version 2, and there appears to be no crotch strap. Did I get the wrong vest from Amazon?

She almost four. The vehicles I listed are ones we have that are rarely ridden in, like f250 is only driven in the summer(almost every weekend, but not always with Jordyn in it) to go camping and the Jeep is rather new to us so I'm not sure how often it will be used, but if it becomes an something used often her GN would be put in there. Her dad currently has a mid 2000's Chevy truck, but that changes every couple months.

I believe the small comes with one and you have to request or order one for the large. I'm trying hard to remember what their rep said at Lifesavers because I do remember her saying something about it--darn! There's no option to use a crotch strap at all with ver. 3.

I have the small, I thought it was the "2" as it came with the head rest thing, and there's no crotch strap that I have found.I prevously had a large that also came with the head rest thing, and it had what I thought was a tether, but maybe that was the crotch strap? It was so big I returned it quite quickly. But, on their (amazingly unuseful) website, they say that the 3 is the one that is adjustable in height, and the one that I have appears to be adjustable by height! So I'm totally flummoxed, again, by this product.

Just for the record, their packaging is as weird as their website. No indication of what version. Several weird typos on the outside of the box (of the English grammar variety). Gotta say: not that impressed with the quality control here.

Bummer, since the crotch strap might solve my is it too small or not problem.
