So the controversial jeep is coming tomorrow and T will probably be getting a ride in the new car. Do the nautilus(harnessed), fr80 (booster mode), fr85 (harnessed) all work in there? I'm about to be looking at a bit of a car seat shuffle!

Not all at once. LOL. Is it a 4 door? I know the Frontier 85 will fit for sure. I am sure the 2 will as well. It is a pretty car seat friendly vehicle and we do 3 across in hubbies 4-door islander. Now if it is a 2 door then I cannot help you.

The Nautilus fits nicely.
The FR85 was too bulky in my opinion. The rear seat in the 4 door Wrangler is fairly shallow (front to back).
Just to give you an idea...here is a FF SureRide in our 11' Wrangler Unlimited...

What about a frontier in booster mode? Any thoughts...after I move in a month she will have a frontier in booster mode nauti (possibly switched to booster, its getting close) and a lite rider. I've gotta leave seats in a 08 oddy, 04 Phaeton, and this Rubicon. Wish I knew who would end up driving which vehicle because I don't want her backless in her sister's car!

I never tried it in booster mode. I have used a turbo with safety surround in ours and the fit is good, so far it has been the best fit I gave found as the outboard belts in our Wrangler give me a migraine (the belts come from behind the seat as they are attached to the roll bar).

Good to know I may be fighting some boosters to work in this car. Thanks for all your help...I feel better knowing what I'm walking into.

I know this thread is a bit old, but hoping someone can offer some advice, as I am not finding clear info...
Hubby just bought a 2 door 2013 Rubicon. Can I install the carseat in the back middle with LATCH? We currently have it in the back passenger's side, but riding in the front passenger's is rather uncomfortable...

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to car-seat.org. :D That's a 2013 2-door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that your hubby bought, right? Rubicon is a trim level used for Wrangler models, while Wrangler is the Jeep model name, and the Wrangler is the only 2-door Jeep model available to my knowledge and per the LATCH manual. For some reason Jeep has a tendency to put a badge like Rubicon or Unlimited, etc. on its newer models indicating the trim level and leaves off the official model name badging from the vehicle, creating some confusion for us to sort out Jeep models. If it's indeed a 2-door 2013 Wrangler Rubicon, then there is no center rear seating position at all (no middle seatbelt, no middle LATCH) in the 2-door Wrangler version. The 2-door 2013 Wrangler has two side/outboard seating positions in the back seat total, each of which is equipped with a seatbelt and its own set of dedicated LATCH anchors, and you cannot do a proper carseat install of any sort in the middle of its back seat due to the middle's lack of an actual, allowable seating position. (Only the 4-door Wrangler model from the 2007 model year and newer has 3 seating positions in the back seat with borrowing of the innermost lower LATCH anchor from each side to install in the center allowed by Jeep if the carseat manufacturer also allows it with spacing between the borrowed lower LATCH anchors of 15.4 inches (390 mm)).

Thank you!

This is all extremely helpful.
Yes, it's a 2 - door 2013 Wrangler Rubicon. That's what I believed but wasn't 100% certain. Why hubby got the 2-door is beyond me
he got it as the fun car to take trips to the mountains and beach but apparently didn't think about my comfort.
