Emailed CS again to see if any new information was available. Here are our emails back and forth:

ME
Has the "newest version" of the Peg Convertible come out with the option to tether rear-facing? Spoke with a customer service rep several months ago and was told it would likely happen in April. Will the option to tether rearfacing be retroactive on seats previously purchased and in use? Thanks!

Peg CS
The new version with the tether strap should be out in stores at the end of May. However you can also purchase the tether strap for the older version for the shipping and handling fee of $4.95.
You may use the link below to order the tether strap.

Thank you. Do you have a picture of this tether strap? I'm assuming it is a d-ring similar to the ones Diono, Britax, and Combi allow for their rearfacing tethering?

Also, how does Peg intend to notify current owners of this amendment or add it to the manual?

Thanks for your help!

This is a running change for current product. The manual itself will be updated for the revised part.

At this time we do not have a picture, I show that it will be in stock around the 16th of May. It will be a strap with the metal ring on the end. It is similar to the one of the competitors.

Thank you

So, with all that, would you be comfortable beginning to tether is rear facing now for a 20 lb 18 month old? Would you be comfortable using a spare Britax or Diono d-ring? Thanks!

Would you mind PMing me the link to order? I'd probably just wait since we don't know what it looks like and May 16 is not long away :)

Just wanted to bump this and see if anyone has "ordered" the tether strap for rearfacing? I've been checking their website and still don't see any updates on the ability to tether the seat rearfacing.

I have two of these and yeah, I'd be completely comfortable using a Britax D ring after reading that.

I must say, I'm surprised Peg isn't charging $42.95 + $17.50 s&h for it... :)

You have two of the seats, or two of their tether rings? I want to see one so I know who it is made by!

Anyone have the new strap yet? Is it just a standard D-ring to be used as an anchor point with the existing tether?

There was a photocopy of two pages from the manual that explained how to use the tether. I asked for an updated manual when I called and they sent me the same one I already had, which doesn't say anything about RF tether...

This is good news! I loved the Peg but chose a Boulevard instead for the tether. If my little one outgrows the CCO before 3, the Peg is back on the list!
