diono santa fe in toyota matrix shoulder belt woes

My mom is visiting from out of town for a week and has volunteered to pick my kids up from school. I thought I'd make my life easier and just buy an extra lbb for my son rather than swapping out boosters from another car. She'll also have him for a month in the summer. In the past, we've used a an extra compass high back booster but his 6 year old sister is now using that one for these 2x a year visits from Grammie. I ordered a Santa Fe because he uses it and likes it in his other Grandma's Kia Sorento. My mom drives an 06 Toyota Matrix.

I popped it in tonight in the dark but when I sat him in it to test the headrest height, the shoulder belt is like 3 or four inches above his chest/shoulder. Argggg I really don't want to ship this sucker back to amazon since I plan on having it as an extra and I assume that any low back booster is going to be the same. My son is nearly 11 years old and will be heading to middle school in the fall. He really doesn't want a high back booster. He's tiny but rides well and I trust him in a low back. 100% of his friends are no longer even using boosters.

Is there some sort thing that I can attach to the seatbelt to make it lay across his chest/shoulder? I think one of our other cars has like a little cord that pulls the fit better. What is this contraption called and can I buy one somewhere?

    Thanks!

OH and when I say the seat belt is above I mean it's not touching his shoulder/chest. It's hovering a few inches in front of his shoulder/chest.

The matrix is like that I was in the backseat of my mom's today and the shoulderbelt fit was bad on me too. Did you try the middle seat?

No, I haven't tried the middle seat. I think that would make it really hard to buckle both kids to be right next to each other. As it is, the Santa Fe is bigger and covers the proper seatblet "plug". I have to plug it in to the one intended for the middle seat.

Isn't there something that you can get from Toyota or an auto parts store that pulls that seatbelt closer to your chest? i think I have them in one of our cars/ MIL's car etc.
