I have a two and a half year old and a baby due in October. I am trying to figure out the safest way to install their carseats in our minivan.
Our van has two captain seats in the second row (both with LATCH), and a bench in the rear (the two outside seats have top tethers). Our garage is funny and I can only access the van from the driver side. I was thinking of taking the captain seat that is behind the driver out (to make a space for me to get in the van and put the kids in).
My plan was to then put my older son in the far back seat on the drivers side (using the seatbelt and top tether) and then put the infant base in the captain seat behind the passenger (using latch).
I hope that makes sense! Can you tell me, if that is safe. If not, what is a better solution? My youngest will be in a Graco Snugride and the 2 year old in a Britax Regent. Thanks so much!
