My gma came by the other day, and i just happened to walk out to the car. My cousin is 1.5 and in a cheapy cosco harness/booster seat. I *think* she is over the bottom slot, but the only other one is way up high. She doesnt have a job, and i doubt i could convince her to buy another seat. I had given her a hand-me-down evenflo convertible that we never used in a grandparents car, but she obviously isnt using it, and it expires at the end of the year. You cant tell much from the pic, but it shouldnt be on the lower slot, should it?

I'm finding it pretty impossible to truly tell from that picture. The harness needs to be at or above her shoulder height. Not rounding over the shoulders. If the lower slot is below her shoulder height, then yes, it needs to be moved up to the other slots.

I couldnt quite tell if she was just at or above it. So up by her ears is safe??

That looks above to me. I typically use the pen/pencil in the slot trick and from what I can tell in the picture it looks above her shoulders.

Honestly, if it's so close you can't tell, then it's not far enough below to compress her spine :twocents:. So I wouldn't be freaking out over it. But it does need to be moved up soon. Up by her ears is fine as long as it's properly tightened. Obviously she should be rear-facing, so whether or not you say something would depend on your relationship with your aunt/uncle and/or grandma. Maybe start by finding out where that convertible is and if she fits in it. Making it RF to the end of the year would get her past 2yo, which would be great. Even if it's only in gma's car.

Oh ive said something. Shes umm.. nuts.. Theres no reason why she cant rearface in the evenflo one i gave her. She'll probably put her in a booster before i put ny 5.5yo 44in dd.

She doesnt have a car, but ill try to get over there and talk to her soon. I dont live in the same town, and she moves around a lot. It's just a bad situation overall.
