Vent Locking clips

Why aren't there locking clips that work like lockoffs? I want to buckle in the Radian, pull the belt tight, and then just clip something on the tightened belt and be done.

Instead, I can't install a Radian in the center of my car (or my husband's car, for that matter). We have very stiff, non cushy seats, so the two options are rock-the-car tight, or sliding 4+ inches at the belt path. I am not strong enough to pull the female end of the buckle up AND pull the buckle tongue down to get it bucked (even if I'm bouncing in the Radian). My husband can barely do it, and it leaves painful, deep marks on his hands.

(My husband accidentally unbuckled the Radian in my car today when he went to unbuckle his own seat belt. My plan in the situation that I accidentally unbuckle is to install outboard with LATCH, but I just really hate the whole thing.)

Like the blue locking clips on CCO's? That would be great if we could use them on other seats.....can we??

I'm a little confused about what the problem is. Why do you need a locking clip with your Radian? Does the seat belt lock at the retractor or the latchplate?

I never could get the radian installed with a locking clip either. The seat sits so low that there is barely enough enough room for the clip between the belt path and the male end of the buckle in my car. My ex always had to help.

They do make them, but they aren't available for sale here in the U.S.

To stop accidental unbuckling, give the buckle a half twist so the button is facing the carseat instead of facing out.

If your car is new enough to have LATCH, it has locking seatbelts so you shouldn't need a locking clip. How do the center belts lock?

They lock at the retractor, but the non-cushy "sport" seats (standard. We didn't pick them) don't allow the Radian to "sink" into them. As a result, installations with the retractor locked are extremely loose. Imagine installing a CR with a locked belt, but without pushing the CR into the vehicle seat, not even when pulling the belt. CRs don't even sink when my twice-my-weight husband bounces on them, so it's not just because I'm too small to install them.

I do wish that they'd install like our ICE, install-anywhere Boulevard, but we NBD'd a second Radian because the Britax didn't really leave enough room for passengers outboard. It's now in our 4Runner, which has normal seats

Ours is RF with plenty of room for the locking clip. It's just a very tight belt and female buckle mounted on steel cables that are very difficult to grab to pull towards the buckle tongue. If our stalks were longer and we had this problem, I think I would have cried at the unbuckling! It sounds like it sucks :(

We can't twist the steel-cable stalks! I'm going to stick some Velcro on the button, though. At least I don't have a booster rider next to him!
