I have a 2005 Chevy Uplander and three kids. Here is our current set up:
5 yo is 35lbs, FF, in an Evenflo Triumph LX, seated in the middle seat of the third row. It has top tethers, but no bottom. She also knows how to unstrap herself and does so repeatedly after being told not to.
3 yo is 37lbs, FF, in an Evenflo Triumph LX, seated in the captains chair behind the passenger seat. This seat is the most frustrating. It has a stupid little built in car seat that is not safe at all. It has no latch system and the safety belt doesn't lock easily.
17 month old is 28lbs, RF, in an Evenflo Triumph LX, seated in the captains chair behind the drivers side. This seat has full LATCH system and it the most easily secured.
I need a new car seat for the 5 year old because hers is getting ready to expire. I'm actually thinking of replacing all of them with models that may fit better since the Triumph LX is a little bulky and we plan on having more children in the future. Any recommendations on placement and seats to get for the highly frustrating Chevy Uplander? Trading our car in or buying a new one isn't affordable for us right now. Also any tips on helping my five year old NOT unstrap herself??
Thanks!!
