RSTV help? I don't understand the darn sizing!

Someone please tell me which RSTV to order? I posted in main forum, but no responses. Kid is 48 lbs, 16-17" torso, 24+" around chest. I'm just not sure the small will fit and the large starts at 50 lbs. Help?

Sorry to be pester-y. I'm getting nervous about a trip overseas...

I can't answer your question directly, but I can tell you that our approx. 41 pound, 44-45" kid (on second to top slot in Frontier) fits the version 2 small very well. I don't know if it would fit so well at 48 pounds, but it would probably depend a lot on how she carried her weight.

The weird thing is that our 50" kid (approx. 48 pounds) is too tall for it, Although it appears to touch her thighs when she sits, the crotch strap will not secure and I think that's required, right? When I tried it on her quickly, she said it was too tight around too, but she's a bit of a complainer, so I'm not sure if it really was.

I have no idea if this helps or not. That sounds like a tough call. Any way you can order from a place that allows returns and try both?
