I was wondering if techs in different parts of the country have anything special planned for Child Passenger Safety Week which is Septembr 16-22, 2007.
It says there is a National Seat Check for that Saturday, but so far, I have not seen anything going on in my area (usually the only seatcheck we have in the area is during this week). Maybe because they did their yearly check in February, they are skipping this seat check.
I am not a certified tech (want to be one day though), so I figure the best way for me to participate this year is to get information distributed to those who need it.
At DD#2 daycare, I am putting together a set of pamphlets to distribute in each child's cubby. This includes
"Rear-facing, Unmatched Safety" http://www.cpsafety.com/PDFfiles/RearFacingBrochure.pdf
"A Parent's Guide to Shield Booster Dangers" http://www.cpsafety.com/PDFfiles/ShieldBoosterBrochure.pdf
"A Parent's Guide to Sheild Car Seat Dangers" http://www.cpsafety.com/PDFfiles/ShieldSeatBrochure.pdf
"Installing Child Safety Seats" booklet from http://www.usaaedfoundation.org/ (this is a revised "Are you using it right" booklet and is free and you can order up to 100 free)
"Boosters are for big kids" http://www.carseat.org/Boosters/630.pdf
For DD#1's kindergarten, I am asking the nurse if she would be willing to distribute the "Boosters are for big kids" flyer.
Anyone doing anything special in your town?
