Nextfit harness pads...how do your kids like them?

If you have bought a nextfit, did your child get used to the harness pad cover? What size is your child? My 2.5 yr old DD complained about the pads when we tried the seat in the store, but I wonder if she'd get used to them.

The kids I tried it in didn't say anything about them. I tried Elizabeth (6), the 4 year old I watch, and the 2 year old I watch.

The only time DS1 has said anything about them was after I prompted him by fussing with them and asking if they were uncomfortable. He's been in the seat almost 2 months now and hasn't said anything at all about them after that. He calls it his comfy seat.

No complaints from my 2 yr old, but he isn't very verbal yet. I think they look comfy though they took some getting used to when adjusting the harness.

We've only had ours for a few days but so far no complaints from my 3.5 y/o DD and she's pretty particular about what she likes/dislikes. She keeps telling me how comfy her seat is. I think if the harness is too tight or the pads & chest clip are too high it is uncomfortable (at least it looks that way to me) so I make sure to position it all before closing the chest clip.

Bumping this up bc we had a different experience. When I tried to slide the harness covers up they snagged DDs neck because 1) the harness is soooo close together and 2) because of the grippy underneath them they don't slide freely like most do. I had to tug them to the side to slide them into place. I wasn't cool with how it snagged/pinched her neck. DD hated them, but she hates ALL harness covers so I wasn't surprised lol She has never complained about straps being too close to her neck but always complains about harness covers.

Are they required for use in the NextFit?

Yes, the harness pads are required. I ended up purchasing the seat and DD hasn't complained about the harness/harness pads yet. However, I don't like how when she is out of the seat the straps fall into the bucket of the seat. I'm used to the Britax velcro thingy. Thought about returning it, but on the second day we had it, DD had an accident and wet her pants in the seat. :(
