Who gets a new seat?

Baby brother is quickly approaching outgrowing his little CCO, I bet he will be out of it by the end of the Summer (he is super tall!), and I want to plan ahead for what is next. I am considering a couple of scenarios and would love some opinions. I am not loving the RXT as a FF seat, so that may influence my decision, but I will keep it if it is the best for a future three-across.

We may be having a third sometime in the future, so a three across could be happening. Probably not for at least 2 years though, so I bet D will be in a booster by then. She is 3.5 yrs old now.

1. Keep D in her RXT and get a new RXT for R. How do they puzzle when FF/RF next to each other?
2. Put R in the RXT and get a Prosport or Frontier 90 for D. Which of these is narrower/better at puzzling?

Thanks!

I am assuming from your comment about liking the RXT as a FF seat that your daughter is FF? If so, I might look at a new seat for her. I would look at a Britax Frontier (85 or the new 90), Graco Nautilus, or Recaro ProSport because if your DD is FF, you don't really need a convertible for her.

I LOVE the way a RF Radian and FF Nautilus puzzle together. I was able to puzzle them in my Honda Civic, which is small. :) I couldn't quite get the Frontier and Radian to puzzle quite as well, but I didn't push it hard. I do not have experience with the ProSport and Radian next to each other. Sorry!

After giving it more thought, I think I am not too excited about using the RXT as a RF seat again for little brother. I just got so annoyed with it when D was RF. It is still bugging me as a FF seat, but not as much. Now I am wondering, is the steel frame of the RXT worth the hassle? I borrowed the CA 65 that my daughter uses in my mom's car and I just like it so much better. Mostly the smoothness of the harness adjuster and the lightness of the whole thing. Would the CA be just as good for RF and eventual FF, or are the extra features of the Radian worth it?

I would use the RXT for baby and get a Nautilus/Frontier/ProSport for big sis.

If money isn't an issue, I might have more fun though. I used the RXT FFing for a while. I loved my Plum RXT!
