Question evenflo amp

is there a reason why evenflo amp (hbb mode) isn't recommended more often? it seems to have the narrowest external width and sounds great for 3-across installation in a small car, but i rarely see it recommended.

thanks in advance.

I like the Amp HBB (and the backless version too) and I order some for my CPS program but the footprint is crazy wide and boxy and not good for narrow seating positions, or contoured seating positions. Definitely not a good candidate for most 3-across scenarios.

Plus, it's not particularly tall and the headwings are very shallow and don't provide adequate sleep support for most kids. But it's fine for kids who don't sleep in the car if it fits well in your vehicle.

Just my :twocents:

I have a lbb amp and it is super wide, great for my huge kids but probably not the average 4-5yo. I don't love the shallowness of the wings on the hbb and from what I've seen, its not a great fit for littles.

I use an amp hbb for my tiny 5 yr old as a spare and she rides in it once a week in my friends car. I like it but shes sooo not able to buckle it on her own.

We like the amp for comfort, armrests, ease of buckling, and cupholders... but it raises my 7 year old so high in the Ford Escape that the shoulderbelt rides off the side of her arm instead of on her shoulder. I was trying to deal with two of them and a My Size 70 in an SUV the other day, and there was NO way they'd work for three across (I sent the mom off to look for Connexts or Dreamrides or LiteRiders or Top Sides instead, lol).

wow, i had no idea that it would not be good for a 3-across. strictly based on measurements like the external width which seem to be the narrowest of all highback boosters, i assumed it would take up the least amount of space. curse you, the mystery of carseat design and puzzling!!

thanks for the inputs. i'm not in a rush to get a booster but will look at other options.
