way to remove should belt guides on Radian?

I have one Diono R120 with the red metal shoulder belt guides. I've always hated them and wish they were not there. I've actually hit/scratched my arm on them before when moving/installing the seat. I never intend to use this seat as a booster. Does anyone know if there is a way to remove them?

The other day DD1 was standing on the floor of my car, in the space in between my two Radians, while I buckled in DD2. She was bouncing around a little and she kind of whacked her head up against the side of her sister's seat, right where the metal belt guide is. She started crying because it hurt. That got me wondering if in an accident, if someone is sitting next to that seat, could they possibly end up hitting their head on the metal belt guide?

That is precisely why I snagged a 2nd SKJP Radian. I don't want my unprotected kids sitting beside those metal belt guides. The official answer will be "don't alter the seat". But if I was using one FF beside an unprotected child, I would be very tempted to carefully drill out the rivets :duck:.

That was my main concern, it is very possible that someday this seat could end up FF next to a child in a booster or just a seat belt and I don't like the thought of those metal belt guides by their heads. I guess I have awhile before I will have to worry about this, but I wanted to know if anyone knew of an easy or "accepted" way to remove them.

I thought they weren't removable.

They're the reason I got the RXT... Make me nervous!

I didn't realize the RXT doesn't have them. Now I kind of wish we had gotten one of those instead. At least only 1 of my 3 Radians have the stupid metal belt guides.
