Young Sport Question

Well, I was set on the Como, but now that I would have to use the head bolster it is a no go (I am pretty sure he would be in the bottom 2 slots). So, I am back to square one. I am thinking strongly about getting the Recaro Young Sport. My DS is 18 months and about 25 lbs. and 31" tall with a torso of 12". I know some will cringe at this, but he is FF. So, my question is to you Sport owners, how long are the harness straps? If your child is nearing the top slot, can you still sit him in his seat with a winter coat on? I don't have a store around here that sells them, so I hate to buy one on line and have to return it. I need a seat within the next 2-3 months. I may try to wait for the Signo, but I don't know if it will actually be out in time. Thank you so much for your help!

Before you look at car seats, I would strongly suggest taking some time to look through the FAQ's and visit the web site www.cpsafety.org (also the links there) and truely do your research on safe car seat practices. You mention two things in your post that lead me to believe that this would be a benefit to you. One is the tone of nervousness thinking we will flame you for having him ffing, (we won't, but we will explain best practice) and the other is the coat. Remember we are here to educate you so that you can make a fully informed choice, not to make you feel bad. It may help you to preview what we will say with a quick look at some of the sources where we get our info.

Thanks Kimberly! I will look that over. I really appreciate everyone's help on these boards and I am so grateful to have boards like these with such an important decision coming up. I didn't mean to offend anyone if I did.
