I have a friend with a 2.5 year old with a very rare condition called Vici Syndrome. When I say rare, I mean that there have been less than 50 cases diagnosed in history worldwide. The syndrome is characterized by the absence of the Corpus Collosum and results in low tone, significant developmental delays, heart issues and immune issues. Their daughter must always be in a significantly reclined position or she loses her airway. She is currently 2.5 years old and the life expectancy of a child with her syndrome is age 3-8. I don't have her exact stats but I know that she is average height but underweight.
I found out today that she is riding in a Radian RXT FF in a very reclined position in the second row of a Mazda 5. The reclined the captains chair quite a lot to accomplis this. I brought up the possibility of RF her, but they can't get the car seat reclined enough. She mentioned that they were looking into a converted van in which she would just ride in her wheelchair but they can't really afford the right now. She also mentioned the possibility of a lie-flat option for her. Is the EZ On modified vest a good option for a case like hers?
