Do I want a double?

I would do a single with a buggy board if anything.

DD1 is 3 1/2 and DD2 is almost 2. DD1 rarely rides in the stroller anymore (only when super tired or if eating a snack). When out shopping, she will usually ride through the parking lot, then we use the second seat for bags & such.
We just sold our BJCM-D and kept the BJCS-D because it can convert back to single and has the buggy board option. Just my .02

If your DS does want to ride, you can always wear baby..

What about a proper baby carrier (Thinking Ergo, boba, woven wrap, something like that) and then you can keep the single stroller. Use it for baby, but if Liam wants in it, put the baby in the carrier and put him in the stroller... easy pesy!!!

Oh and CONGRATULATIONS, I haven't been around in a while

This is what I was going to suggest. Get a good carrier (or two) for the baby, and then a single will be fine--especially if you put a Kiddy Board on the back of the single just-in-case.

I've got an Ergo, Beco, wrap conversion ring sling, wrap, and stretchy wrap on the way so I think I'm good as far as carriers. Liam refuses to be worn anymore. He started refusing around his second birthday, but he's always hated it because he just wants to run free at all times. It drives me nuts. I'd love love love for him to be a stroller kid. Things would get done so much more fast and smoothly. If he gets tired he wants you to carry him, but if you try to put him in a carrier he pitches a fit. I think he just hates feeling confined.

I'm just paranoid he will get jealous and want to ride like the baby and the baby will hate being worn as well and I'll be screwed. lol. But I don't want to spend the money on a double and then never use it and have a bulky huge stroller for nothing where the money could have been spent on a single I really like.

One option that I don't think was mentioned was to get a single stroller with a toddler seat. We used a Valco Runabout for this situation when DS#2 was a baby. We'd lay the back of the stroller flat for the baby and then put the older kid up front.

I'd wait and see, mine at 3.5 years apart and there are some days I wish I had a double, but I have a lazy whiner and no vehicle during the day.

We just have a bob and the big kid climbs onto the foot rest.
