Latch weight limits

Dumb question. I'm looking at the LATCH manual. I was just checking the weight limits for Matt's carseats / cars. Toyota says up to the weight limit specified by the CR manufacturer. Does this include the child restraint's weight?

Dodge says 65 lbs including the weight of the child and the restraint.

For Toyotas, it's whichever way/number the carseat manufacturer specifies its LATCH installation weight limit, either a max. child weight only like many carseats currently state in their manuals, or assume 40 lbs. if the vehicle manufacturer doesn't state a specific number, in the case of Britax models, for example, or a max. combined weight of the carseat plus child's weight not exceeding 65 lbs. total. Eventually the labeling on all new carseats will specify the max. child weight beyond which LATCH cannot be used to reflect the LATCH changes in 2014 to the combined carseat plus child's weight not exceeding 65 lbs. total. (And to think LATCH was intended to be simpler and more standardized for installing in theory, yet it's become even more complicated than ever in practice/reality. :eek:)
