Chest clip, heart surgery

I need suggestions for a child who had a heart surgery and complains of the chest clip hurting him, which results in him pushing it down.

He has a cosco scenera, 2yrs old, 30lbs, forward facing.

Which seats can be used without the chest clip? It seems to be the clip itself that hurts him.

Have you already tried calling Dorel and asking about whether their seat can be used without the chest clip?

I believe Britax has approved use without the chest clip before. Diono may have, too. I'd start with the manufacturer of the seat he already has, though.

She just asked me about this situation 20min ago so I haven't had a chance to call yet, I thought I'd ask and see if anyone knows here in the meantime!

Britax and Diono (SK) are the two I've heard of approving it in specific situations. Graco has said that it's not too much of an issue. Possibly Combi but there are a lot of 2 year olds the CCO won't fit appropriately anyway... Call Dorel first.
