Seat for grandma's car

DD has been in a Cosco HBB in my mom's car. She has finally outgrown it and needs something ASAP.

The car is an '08 Honda Civic and she also needs to fit 2 boosters (Literiders right now, I can get new boosters if need be) for DS and my nephew.

DD is NOT ready for a booster, AT ALL. My mom has arthritis though so the buckle needs to be easy enough for either her or DD to buckle and unbuckle, so Gracos and Evenflos are probably out  ( I was going to get a Maestro or SureRide).

Basically just need something narrow and easy to buckle. I'd like to keep it pretty cheap because my mom smokes in her car when the kids aren't in it, but money isn't a huge issue.

DD will be 5 tomorrow, is 37lbs, unsure on height but wears 4t-5t clothes and is pretty petite. She's got plenty of room to grow on the 3rd slot of her Nauti.

I was going to suggest Maestro but sounds like it's a no-go -- what about a Harmony Defender?

What about a safeguard/safety first go?

What about a used Radian?

Neither are cheap new, but maybe you could find a used one?

Can you teach DD to buckle herself? My son is 5.5 and can buckle and tighten his radian on his own.

DD is great at buckling and unbuckling  but does have trouble with her Nauti (we've been having lots of issues with it though) that's why I said Gracos and Evenflos are probably out.

I will check out the Defender. I forgot about it! I really don't want to mess with the SafeStop and all of that with an RN, but it may be an option.

The Defender buckles are nice, the only issue is the short crotch strap, but if that works out it would probably be a great choice!!

And I feel your pain, my 6 year old can't buckle herself in the SureRide and it's driving me NUTS!!!! Otherwise I really like the seat a lot, but I already have 2 younger kids to buckle up!
