So, is he going to make it RFing to four?

My big DS is still RFing in his radian now at 3 yrs 4 months. Anyone want to guess whether he'll make it to 4? He's ~42"+, 40 lbs (naked), and he has some shell left (pic below).

My bet is he's going to max out by weight before October; he's gained in spurts before, and it's been a while since his last one. Do SK radians follow the 44" max height rule like the Diono ones? Because he may hit that limit before October, as well.

Here are a few pics.

With an approximately 1.5 inch medicine box to show shell (not as good as a book but I had it in the car):

And being silly, for fun:

My guess is that he'll make it through the summer (lightweight clothing!) but might be too heavy once fall comes.
So maybe to 3yrs 11 mos :)

I would think you may get lucky on this one. I don't know about the 44" rule, only the 1.5in of shell. I'm soo jealous! My 3yr 4mo ds is 39 1/4in (only 33lbs though) and he can't grow another centimeter or his xtsl is outgrown :( I guess by all intensive purposes it is now really. Check out this link and you'll see my ds with 1.5in book on his head.

I just posted a couple days ago about it with the link to pics. Crazy how yours can be taller and have room to grow yet mine has outgrown it. Guess in addition to a giant torso mine also has a big head:p

I think if you tilt the book so it's perpendicular to the seatback you might have a bit more time, but it's certainly true that shorter kids can outgrow seats by height before taller kids, which is counterintuitive. DS wears a size 4 or 5 shirt, but mostly needs the bigger size for sleeve length rather than torso length.

Yeah. Hold the book at a ninety degree angle with the back of the car seat, make an L. He will still have some room.
