Can I keep the cover?

I contacted Graco today, they're going to refund me in 4 to 6 weeks after I ship the seat back to them. My kids were starting to fight though as I was getting off the phone, and I forgot to ask if I can keep the cover. Is that a no no?

I don't know, but I wouldn't assume.
I would call them and ask if you can sell the cover to fund the shipping costs. That seems like a reasonable request considering it costs you money to ship the seat back and they'll just destroy the whole thing anyway.

In most cases, yes you can keep the cover.

They have your serial number on file. If you go to the contact web form of the Graco baby page and include your serial number, etc you can email to ask if you may keep the cover.
That may be simpler than waiting on hold :)

I didn't think to ask and sent mine back with everything. I can't imagine it would be an issue, but I would definitely double-check with them first. Glad to hear they're making it right though! Are they sending a pre-paid FedEx label? The letter that came with my label was definitely more, shall we say...formal...than my email correspondence with the CS rep - although I'm sure it's the same form letter they send everyone. I was a little worried they'd balk when I sent the seat back minus the buckle and tongs so I made sure to include copies of the letter and complaint form from NHTSA.

They are sending a prepaid label, but I will go ahead and email them about keeping the cover. It's not a huge deal if they want it back, I just thought I could sell it. If I don't hear back from NHTSA by the time I ship the seat, I'll send the buckle and tongs back as well.

I would be sure and ask.

I sent back a MyRide because it was loosening and asked about keeping the cover and they said no because they needed the entire seat back for testing.

When I have returned a seats in the past and I have asked, the manufacturer said to return the cover except once and that was recaro. I think I remember someone saying that evenflo said they could keep their triumph cover but that was at least a couple of years back. So I would definitely ask first.

I had a seat replaced by Diono and they were fine with me keeping the cover, but I had to ask, it wasn't offered.
