SureRide 65 - 3 YO RF

Took some time to check out the SureRide 65 RF with my guy. He's 3y6m, 37 inches tall, 35ish lbs. he's on the last of the three RF only slots, but had the RF/FF spot still way above his shoulders.

He says he's super comfy and wants to keep using this seat. Lol. He calls it Zebra. :)

I'm a little disappointed by the lack of leg room. Does he seem squished? Will you use it past the height limit? Is it 37"?

What cover is that? I hadn't seen that one yet!

It's a program seat, available to CPST's for giving out at check events and fitting stations. So it might not even have a name (sometimes they use old fabrics from discontinued seats, that looks a little like one of their old stripey Titan covers).

How's the install with that recline foot? Looks ok from here, but I can't see if you have any noodles piled under it...?

How much space does it take up at manufacturer'a recommended recline angle (line level to ground)?

Since they upped the rfing height limit, I think we will be getting this when baby outgrows his bucket. The top slots for ffing are just awesome, especially if they gave it a longer harness! And the price is great.

I thought it is 37". Is it higher?
ETA: never mind I found the thread that says 40".

I did a seat check event today, and we installed quite a few of these RF. We had receiving blankets available, since you can't really use noodles with it, but we didn't need to use any. The SK coordinator said they really haven't had a problem with the seat being too upright. I was able to get it at a good angle for 4MO twins with no problem at all (compared to often needing noodles for a RF Scenera).

Just for fun, during a slow moment I measured the top slots. 19", and I wasn't really compressing the cover at the bottom of the seat! I was quite impressed. It was actually taller and has a higher FF weight limit than the Maestros that we were giving out for FF kids.

What's the issue with the harness?

I got almost 20" when compressed. The rear facing leg room isn't bad at all as the seat measures about 12" deep and the harness length on mine is definately longer than the display I tried dd in. I thinks its a great seat for the price.

It looked nice and deep to me, too, though I didn't measure it. A very nice seat for the price - I'm glad to see it as a program seat.

The issue with the harness is that there's not enough harness to actually fit a kid at the upper limits

I really, really hope they fix that soon. We see a lot of "big littles" when I work at car seat check events in Detroit, and this would work nicely for the majority of them. It would be great to have an affordable alternative to putting a 50-lb 2YO in a booster. :(

I thought I saw a thread here that said they had added 3 inches to the harness. I could be wrong & it could still be too short! OP, how was the buckle? That is my only reservation, that it has the new, stiff button.

I tried my almost 4 yo in it at target and he fit at the last rfing height, but he is 43" and still has room. He's in a xtsl now, those don't have a height limit, do they?

I think most kids would have the top of the ears above the shell before their shoulders.

Radians have a 44in RF height limit, in addition to requiring 1.5 inches of shell above their heads,

Yes, on FB they said they added 3 inches. But it appears that is still not enough
